The Function Centre, where Council meetings are held, is located at the forefront of the building at ground level amongst the community, a gesture deliberately reflecting Council’s emphasis on transparency in decision-making and its valuing of the democratic process. The concept of democracy was specifically embedded in the original vision which formed the foundations of the design brief. This is now strengthened by the community being able to book and use the same space that these Council meetings are held in.
Features include:
· Capacity to hold seated, catered functions for up to 350 people.
· The ability to be divided into two spaces with the clever use of an acoustically treated operable wall.
· Extensive AV and IT capabilities.
· A beautiful, grand entrance and visibility to the outdoor plaza.
· Unique carpet design that mirrors the ceiling pattern.
· Acoustic wall treatments with stunning Victorian Ash battens.
Supporting the space is a large kitchen that has been designed to be able to deliver meals and other light refreshment services to up to 550 people concurrently to all spaces within Bunjil Place.
